Since its inception in 1924 as a small rural mission, Willowdale Baptist Church has grown in step with the community of North York. A suburban church in the 50s, we are now an urban, international church, steps away from Yonge and Finch, and the Finch subway station.

Affiliated with the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches in Canada, we are an independent congregation supported solely through the tithes and offerings of committed members and friends.

Our facilities include a large air conditioned auditorium, spacious foyer, full gym, library, fellowship hall, and various meeting rooms.

Our primary objective is to help each person become a committed follower of Jesus Christ, and in so doing reach their maximum potential in every area of life.

Barry was born in Weston, Ontario in 1942 but grew up in Belleville, Ontario. He was saved and baptized in the early 60s and attended Parkdale Baptist Church in Belleville. In 1965 Barry enrolled at Thames Valley Bible College in Woodstock, Ontario and later Central Baptist Seminary in Toronto. Upon graduation from Seminary in 1971, Barry became the Assistant Pastor of Willowdale Baptist Church until 1974; this was followed by eighteen years as Senior Pastor at Melrose Baptist Church in Toronto. In 1993 Barry accepted the position as Senior Pastor to High Park Baptist Church in Toronto; as of February 2005 he has been serving as Pastor back at Willowdale Baptist.

Barry and his wife Marilyn have two grown daughters, Miriam and Judith.

Kamyl is a native of Mauritius (in the Indian Ocean). After graduating from Tyndale University College (OBC '73), he and his wife, Lorraine spent 20 years in missionary work on the island of Mauritius under SIM (AEF).

From 1995-2000, Kamyl was seconded to IVCF Canada as Coordinator of International Student Ministry for Ontario and served as Chaplain for international students at the University of Toronto, St. George Campus. He also had the unique experience of being the second generation Pastor for two years (1997-1998) in a Korean Church in Toronto.

Kamyl served as part-time Outreach Coordinator here at Willowdale Baptist Church from 2000-2005 prior to being called to a fulltime position as Pastor in February 2005.

He and Lorraine have 3 grown children, Corrine, David and Kenny.

After being a stay-at-home mom for a number of years, Dot rejoined the work force on a part-time basis in a variety of ventures working mainly in the medical field. Her people-related positions along with her experience as a pastor's wife have proven to be personally rewarding and fruitful.

She is happily married to Rob (25 years) and they have two college age children, Jill and Jordan.

Dot is excited to be a part of the team here at Willowdale Baptist Church to daily apply the gifts God has given.
